THE REAL FAILURES TO GHANA STANZA 1
THE REAL FAILURES TO GHANA
By: Joyce Ohenewaa Kwapong
STANZA ONE:
Through all the years
Full of rampant C's have we lived
What more could they represent?
If not cheap politics, cheap preaching, cheap journalism,
cheap education
Look all eyes properly fixed in their sockets
Look at them with disdain
What an eyesore!
Indeed the largest scale on earth
Would not be able to measure
All these acts of treachery
Towards our prestigious country
Exquisite fruits of incessant lies and failures abound in
our Nation's vineyard
Tendered with villianity and duplicity
Cheap politics!
Cheap Politics! I say LOUD and CLEAR
Politicians with honey coated tonguesWho muffle their words
Causing one to borrow a magic wand from the wizard of Oz's
bag of tricks to understand
Making empty and deceitful promises in their manifestos
Which were meant to be told to the marines
Lulling the citizens to case their votes in favor of them
Exchanging currencies with human conscience
Leaving their people plunged in poverty
No jobs and no favorable climate to create one
Young ladies going for "skirt employment"
Young men resorting to fraud, arms and weapons
Whilst politicians focus on wealth creation in government
Politicians! A charge to keep you have
But many seem to have forgotten
And so,
Play politics without principle
Where is thy loyalty to country?
" I promise on my honor"
" To be faithful and loyal to Ghana my motherland"
Recited as a formality in the days of their youth
So positions are occupied
With loyalty to corruption and deceitfulness
Rather than loyalty to country
National wealth and resources in wrong hands
Whilst good people suffer
Cheap politics!!!!!!
A real failure to Ghana
STANZA TWO unfolds...
